Ernest Burden III
I wonder who made this film about Gehry's new NY building? I'm just envious, I wish I could have been involved in the project. It's a nice piece, not typical sales video. Embedded in the page, can't link the video directly: http://www.newyorkbygehry.com/
alias_marks
Great find, would love to hear who did it as well
BrianKitts
A bit too seizure inducing for my taste at the end, but I really liked the quick clip where it showed the 2d plan variations undulating changing levels..... sorry no help from me on the creator. Ernest Burden III
I really liked the quick clip where it showed the 2d plan variations undulating changing levels...... Yeah, I wanted more of that, too. Also, too fast on some of the cuts. Great work, overall.
alias_marks
If I had to make a bet out of it. I vote dbox... just a random guess though
John Dollus
I'll take that bet. I'd be very surprised if Dbox had anything to do with it.
Gus_Rayvus
I think you might lose that one John.

Crazy Homeless Guy
Edit: this article says Dbox. Artefactory must have completed the renderings. http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2011/01/03/beekman_tower_preview_better_than_the_movies_it_plays_before.php ___________________________ Is Dbox verified? http://www.archpaper.com/e-board_rev.asp?News_ID=1754 ..the is article has Artefactory lab listed as image credits. Maybe Dbox did the animation portion. I seem to remember someone saying that they sub out their 3d, or their 3d team split with them or something like that. John Dollus
I'm puttin' my money(beer) on Artefactory doing the renderings and Dbox handling the video production. That makes a lot more sense to me.

Camby1298
Bay Windows! What a revolutionary idea Frank! original, never been done, you're genius is unmatched. Whether you like Gehry or not, I find the video somewhat unfinished and secretive; hiding something. There are very few up close and personal shots of the building making me think the design is still in concept phase. Where Gehry will undoubtably find a way to go over budget. John Dollus
actually, brian's kinda right. on the backside, they altered the facade to be completely flat thus saving a lot of money and Gehry saying they planned it that way all along. there was a funny discussion about it on wirednewyork http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4305&page=
Ernest Burden III
Artefactory...or something like that. Man, I'm off my game. Who the heck is that? I'll have to look 'em up. WiredNY is just plain weird. Architecture groupies.
Nic H
awful building, pretty schizo - verging on awful editing, repetitive content far too long - however some of the closeup shots look really good and have nice surface detail / texture and modelling. oh the music is disgusting as well.
