braddewald
I have a single vray dongle but would like to use it for two machines at once. This is supposed to be possible, isn't it? I feel like I got it to work before but I can't figure out a way to make it work now. I am rendering a scene on my main rendering computer but would like to work on a different scene on a second computer at the same time (both computers are on the same network). I went to "change vray client license settings" and changed the name of the computer from "localhost" to the name of the computer that the dongle is in. But then I can't launch the "vray license server" on the second machine: I get that annoying "needs WIBU-box" message. Is there a solution?! Thanks. John Dollus
http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/licensingvray.htm sounds like one of your systems insn't installed quite right. make sure the other one was installed with the remote license server instead of local
BrianKitts
you only run the vray license server on the machine with the dongle. the other machine only needs to be pointed to the machine with the dongle in your license server settings. just checking.... do you have multiple licenses? if not you'll have to do your secondary rendering through backburner
Tommy L
Yes, Im pretty sure you need to use backburner. You have only one license and the max thats open rendering is using it.
