TheAllusionisst
I really like the aged bricks, nice masonry texturing.
Ernest Burden III
For such a long expanse of one texture, it would be nice to have some way to modulate the surface over distance--like a change in brightness, contrast or color. Alos, your sun angle is awful. It is almost perpendicular to the front facade, so the shados do not help you define the massing. A little to the right would do it. Elliot
David, I live in Atlanta. I have been here about 19 years. That building looks like the Atlanta of the early 60's when I used to come here with my parents. I think it looks great. I hope they build it...... I kind of miss the old days Hi Hi. They have done a lot to make this city a great city. It's architecture is certainly improving..... Do you live here.... If you do I would like to meet you...! Tomorrow morning I am leaving town for another trip south of the border. I will be back in 10 days. I will have acces to the internet through my Sprint wireless..... only at 432 kb.... Thanks Elliot
pipjor
Elliot- I live in Suwanee, this is a proposal for downtown Duluth... yea we will have to get together.. Ernest- I just finished showing the architect and he mirrored your comments about changing brick colors to break up the long expanse. your also right about the sun, i'll try another angle. thanks, dave
Elliot
Dave, I live in Suwanee too..... Amazing.... I live on McGinnis Ferry Road...... I have been here in Atlanta 19 years and beside Stphen and the guys at Alex Casanovas place I have not met too many people in the rendering addiction. I understand some of the early pioneers in the rendering science came from Geargia Tech..... This is interesting....... I will send you and E Mail with my number. Is that the strip where they have all the little shops....? Wao, If they built like you are suggesting.... What an A plus for the area. pipjor
here's an update. the architect thought the first one looked like a prison. he/we made some changes, now i think it looks more friendly.. -Dave
trhoads
WOW. I like the second posted image much better than the first, much more contrast and texture. I actually live in Duluth and work in Norcross. I have heard lots of rumors about what will be happening in the area. Where exactly are they planning this? EBIII, no more picking on me about my spelling, you seem to have the same affliction. trhoads
Jordan Jones and Goulding, wow, we worked with a construction manager from there a couple years ago, Weikel, on a community center down the street. I work for a small architecture firm. We are not too big, only 7 of us here. I dont know elliot, but this thread caught my eye. Good to see that they are actually working on desgins for that area. I have often thought about trying to buy a place over there. I cant wait to see this actually move forward.
