bobaki
Hi Guys, I have started working on this piece not long ago..There is light leaking from the corners of the room.I am using Maya Mental Ray.. I have extruded the walls to give it thickness and messed around with the Radius.. I am using Final Gather and Global Illu.. THe image is what it came out with.. The specifics are this: 2 Area Lights emitting photons 1 Directional Light as Sun Photons are at 3500000.000 on both Area Lights Global Illumination Photons are at 500000 Any Help would be greatly appreciated
kmanus
It looks like your photon sample radius is too large, and the wall is picking up photons from the other side of the wall. Try decreasing the sampling radius, and increase the maximum number of photons per sample. These can both be found under the global Illumination settings under your render settings. EDIT: Just saw that you are using Maya, I'm using Max, so I'm not sure how that will differ in finding these settings. bobaki
Hi kmanus.. I think the location of the Sampling Radius is in Render Global Settings under GI settings..i will change the Radius of that however at the moment it is at 30 and i will crank up my Photo Emitting.. I dont think there is much difference in Mental Ray for Max and Maya but some options might be in different places... Thank you for you reply
kmanus
I'm guessing they should be pretty similar, and similarly placed in the UI. Good Luck, hope it turns out for you...
