Jonathan Sanchez
Okay, I need a little bit more of that IT wisdom from Andrew or any other with experience. As specified in a previous post, I'm working on adding some more nodes to my render farm and I'm going to go down the Sandy Bridge route. However, my budget allows me to get either four i7-2600 systems or five i5-2500s... around the same cost. Which path would provide best performance / value? AJLynn
I'd take the i7's. Should be about the same or slightly faster, and putting your power in fewer nodes is better.
Jonathan Sanchez
it's what I figured.. and probably better energy / temperature wise, particularly since I will have them working inside my home studio from where I work.
