Devin Johnston
Paul you have a wonderful style I can't say I've seen anything like it before, can you tell us about how you work and what kind of tools you use for your animations? Really wonderful stuff
PDN
Paul you have a wonderful style I can't say I've seen anything like it before, can you tell us about how you work and what kind of tools you use for your animations? Really wonderful stuff Thanks a lot Maxer, Im still quite new to animations but I try to do different and largely abstract things in my own personnel work. I use 3d studio max, vray, and after effects. For my recent animation THE GOLDEN AGE - 'The Simulation' I used several plugins like thinking particles and krakatoa, as well as using realflow for fluid simulations. A lot of work is done in post, with rendering out cloud and particle layers and comping them on top afterwords. Glad you enjoy my work, P
PDN
can i ask a really basic question: how do you enable a signature when you post or respond to threads on cgarchitect? lol
Devin Johnston
Click on settings at the top of the page then on the left find "edit signature" that should get you to where you need to be.

Jim Mann
LoL, thought to myself "Hmm, looks very Bartlett-like" and sure enough on reading his online CV.... Nice work Paul, who runs Unit 15 these days? Jim
PDN
Haha, I like to think I'm not too Bartlett, did you go.? Nic clear runs unit 15 and the whole diploma...! He's awesome.
Jim Mann
Haha, I like to think I'm not too Bartlett, did you go.? Nic clear runs unit 15 and the whole diploma...! He's awesome. I did, got my Diploma there in 1996 so a few years before you but it sounds like many of the faces/names are the same. I was in Christine Hawley and CJ Lims unit 21 for my two years at the same time as Mark Smout and Nicola Hopwood. Nic Clear was doing his first stint of teaching there when I was on my second year so didn't see too much of him or his work. I still find little Bartlett ticks creeping into my stuff now and then but for the most part never embraced the style as much as most. Jim
