Dynamic memory limit issue.

It all depends on the geometry in your scene. If you have a ton of proxies and displaced materials you'll want it high, if you don't have much dynamic geometry, then you don't need as much. Play with it in your scene and see if raising and lowering change your render time. If it doesn't affect the render time then you've got enough RAM in your machine and the value is set high enough.

 

That being said it only gets used if it's needed. I typically set mine at 75% of the total RAM in my machine.
