A2d_creative design
Hi all... I'm trying to make a clear refractive glass for coffee table. The glass is placed above the solid wood table, with some glass pins. The setting that I used: - Diffuse color: light blue - Refractive: 1.0 - Glossines: 1.0 - Transparency: 0.90 But, the result is not good enough for me because the glass looks like fly over the table. And that is not reflecting the lamp table which placed over it. What should I do? Please help me because this is my first project and I still new in using mental ray. Thanks Edited January 24, 2011 by A2d_creative design
Peter M. Gruhn
The standoffs are chrome so they perfectly reflect the tabletop. This makes them disappear. Turn down the reflectivity or maybe try a brushed or satined metal (Arch&Design Materials). Glass like that usually has beautiufl green edges. And there'd probably be enough refraction so that the edge of the table appears to move when viewed through the glass. Try a different number for Refraction. I think the manual has some typical values for glass etc. Better idea: switch to A&D Material Glass Physical. The lamp base seems to cast no shadow which adds to the weirdness there.
