jophus14
I am having a problem with a Max file that is 109Mb (2.5 mil polys) in size. I know that this size file isn't too large because I have files that are much larger and I have worked and saved them without any issues. The main issue here is when the file autosaves or when I manually save the file, the file seizes up and shows up as "Not Responding" in the Task Manager. I have a couple of rather large texture files and a floor created by a floor generator but other than that, it's simple geometry....not shrubs, trees, cars etc. Also, there are only five lights in the scene. I have never ran into this issue before. Any suggestions or things that I should look at in the scene to try to "fix" the issue? Thanks. John Pruden
Have you tried merging all objects into a fresh scene and then saving? Your file could be corrupt. Also, are all your textures properly linked to? If not all textures are found, Max can take a long time to try and locate them.
jophus14
I tried to merge everything into a new file but I saved it in the same folder. I will try to merge everything into a new file and save it somewhere else to see if that helps. I thought all of my textures were in one folder but I merged some furniture from other projects into this scene so that might not be the case. I am also going to make sure that all of my textures are in one folder so it'll be easier for the scene to locate and pull the textures to apply to the objects. Thanks for the suggestions.
