F J
www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/intel-finds-sandy-bridge-chipset-design-flaw-shipments-stopped/ ouch! better hold out on those for now.. or if u have 'em already know that u'll get to replace 'em within month or so.. in the meantime, what people r doing is to switch the drives from the sata2 to the sata3 ports, since those arent affected.. Companioncube
its not that bigger deal, i'm just using the 4 sata III ports i have instead. for all i know i'm not even got one of the 5% of affected boards. if i can't be bothered to return the board in a few months and i need extra sata ports i can always just get a pci sata card. but sandybridge is awesome! got me a i7 2600k and 16gb of 1600mhz DDR3 and a gtx560. so easy to over clock these new systems. i got mine up to 4.8ghz with so much ease and it stays alot cooler than my old system that was at stock. left it to render for 24 hours and not one issue. it really tears through the renders. just so i don't wear out the system too quick i downclocked it too 4.2 GHZ and the asus boards are so good when the system is idle it downclocks it self to 1.6ghz saving power. over clocked my GPU too!
