Limited resolutions with VGA ports in 2 monitors

Hi all, I have a dual monitor set-up- DELL and LG, each of witch has a DVI and VGA connections.

Both monitors are connected through their DVI connections to my GTX 460 2GB and that represents my workstation.

Both monitors are also connected through their VGA connections with two other PCs- my render slaves for my 3D work.

Here is the problem- when connected through their DVIs I can choose the proper resolutions with NO problem. If I switch to the VGA ports (each monitor has a button for changing the source) I get limited resolutions and quite unusual by the way.

I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my graphic card, tried getting the right resolutions through NVidia Control Panel and managed for only one of the PCs. The other one is still running at 1400x1200 or something like that.

I just need to know- why is that? Anyone with similar problem?
