paneli
Hello there. I'm working with 3Ds Max Design 2009/2011 and I have some issues with AutoCad 2009. When I link my .DWG project via Import -> File Link Manager all object on scene have a "Architectural" material assigned on them. I wander, is there a way to make it assign VrayMtl instead of that weird kind of "Architectural" fellow? I wouldn't ask but for some reason if I add a MultiScatter to my scene and I forget to change a single object from "Architectural" to VrayMtl, Max crashes as soon as I try to render. (I have NO IDEA how I came up with it, but the fact remains. If you try to render a MultiScatter when a Architectural Material exists in the scene - 3Ds Max crashes) It would bother but I often reload the Link Manager with new objects and after sometime it is very difficult to follow and/or look after what is going on with the assigned materials. (coz you can't render check it) Anyone?

BrianKitts
There is not a tool available directly throught the file link manager to change the default material like you'd like...... But if you got in the habit of always running the vray scene convertor after you update your file link, it would accomplish the same task that you're hoping for. paneli
Vray scene converter? Can it covert that Architectural material? Never heard of this Will try.
BrianKitts
yes it changes all the materials over to a vray material. It doesn't transfer all the settings real well but at least it gets rid of all the incompatible materials.
