Noise
I am experiencing a strange problem in max - when I animate the rotation of a piece of geometry, sometimes it adds in a rotation of its own when played back. The screen grabs show the two boxes rotating from vertical to horizontal along the edge of the box which is laying down - the box on the right animates correctly but you can see the box on the left adds in a rotation of its own. I am completely baffled by this - it happens for no reason and I have tried it about 30 times and it still happens even though I am doing some very simple commands - has anyone seen this before ? Peter M. Gruhn
Don't know. Have you made sure there are no extra keys between start and finish? Check the end points in track view (is it?) and make sure they don't have crazy bezier handles.

Noise
Jon - you are a star of epic proportions !!!! I applied a Linear Rotation controller to the rotation in the Motion rollout and it has worked a treat, many thanks !
