tlalit89
Hi, I am new to Vray. I am struggling to get Window Glass and Swimming pool reflections. For Glass I followed the following link, works out to be great, but with Vray, it doesn't give expected result. http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/article31_TB.asp I have a Clyindrical object for sky (visible to camera, hidden for Reflections) and a Spherical Dome (for Reflections and hidden for camera). One Omni light to light up these two objects. Does any body have a link/Tutorial whil will help me with this. I am using Max 2009 and Vray 1.50 SP2. If anybody has a just basic 3D model which can demonstrate the two reflections Can anybody share the file, so that I can render and understand , how to go about it Regards, Lalit

Jim Mann
As good as that tutorial may have been in 2005, its not meant for VRay. It uses a Max Standard material whereas you want to be using a vray material. Once you have switched to a vray material, change the diffuse material colour to pure black, your reflection colour to pure white and tick the "fresnel" box. Then change your refractive colour to near white i.e. a very light grey, value 240 and tick "affect shadows". That should be enough to get you started and then you can start to experiment with ior, falloff maps in the reflection map slot, refraction values etc. Jim
