why
Hello, I am new to this forum and need help in buying the right desktop. I will be soon starting online courses in revit and autocadd. I might consider courses in 3dsmax in the future. Any advise on hardware requirements would help. Thank you.

why
What is your budget? I just need the tower. I am willing to spend b/n $1000-$1200.
AJLynn
Have a look here: http://www.3datstech.com/2010/12/december-2010-workstations.html and scroll down to "The Budget" under "3D Workstations". That's my recommendation for this sort of work on this sort of budget. But if you don't buy right away, go back to 3datstech.com before you do and see if there's an update to the Budget system. When the fixed Sandy Bridge motherboards become available at retail I'll update the configurations to take advantage of the new CPUs.
Jason Matthews
On a side note, the 2500k has began selling again. Now just waiting on the motherboards as Andrew said. I am still holding out for the Sandy Bridge system.

mariohansen
My friend john is a Animation Engineer. I think he is always using Hp Desktop for his work. I am sure his system has 3Ds Max. You would better to buy HP desk top. But Only should not forget. For using graphics software mandatory required external graphics card for stimulating your system performance. All the best........... Slinger
Only bad thing with HP is they don't sell sandy bridge set ups with any decent graphics card. I looked into it for the firm I work at.
AJLynn
Mario, also remember that it's not the brand name on a Windows computer that determines how good it is for a particular job, but the parts in it. The brand name only indicates who you go to for service.
