shaders_P plugins for maya & mental ray can max use them ?

hi guys ive downloaded some shader_p shaders as ive heard theirs some interesting hair effects to be found, but i can omly find maya 2009 x64 version. i also heard through the grape vine that 3ds max 2010 can use these shaders aswell but i have not been sucessfull indoing so. i was wondering if any body else had the shaders by puppet who could give them to me as their freeware. or could point me in the right direction.

you can use the maya2009 x64 version in 3dsmax x64 Version. I don´t no why is the Website of Pavel Puppet Shaders is down. The latest Version was: shaders V3.3

hi hot chip, thanks for the info. i noticed pavels site was down also. 8-(. though i have been following your posts on mymental ray and cgsociety, and ive now spoke to the man himself. cool.

i have version 3.2.2 and i have followed these instructions

 

1. Place shaders_p.dll to "Max_install_dir"/mentalray/shaders_standart/shaders

2. Place shaders_p.mi to "Max_install_dir"/mentalray/shaders_standart/include

3. And add these lines to standart.mi file:

 

link "shaders_p.dll"

mi "shaders_p.mi"

 

 

Warning! (for win only) If you have following error during render:

 

LINK 0.0 error 191007: cannot load C:\Program Files\Alias\Maya7.0\mentalray\lib/shaders_p.dll, This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

 

You should install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package"

You may download it here:

i have also inswtalled the redistribute x64 file but i get an error about a bad block when max starts up and then max hangs. 8-(

 

any ideas ?

i have a p_hairTK.ccp & p_hairTKshadow.ccp & P_hairTkmapping.ccp file do i use these instead ?

 

hope i can get these to work

ok well, thats one process of illimination out the way, does it matter that am using 3dsmax 2010 ? i have access to 2011 as well.

 

i dont need to woory about the .ccp files do i ? all the information max needs should be in the .mi and the .dll.

 

ill post up the error log when max starts up that should help further
