Jonathan Sanchez
Hey guys.. in the planning stage for my humble render farm. Will consist of 5 render nodes and my working pc. I will be storing my textures/proxies/3ds files on a NAS device, but am having trouble selecting one. Can anybody recommend one?... preferably under $500. Brodie Geers
I'm not sure how much it costs and it's the only one I've ever had but I'm quite happy with the Netgear ReadyNAS Duo I have here at work. I started with dual 500gb mirrored drives and switched to 1tb drives awhile back. Had it for about a year or so now and it just does what it's supposed to do. -Brodie
Jonathan Sanchez
thx Brodie.. I was also thinking if it would be worth it to skip the NAS and just get an SSD for my main workstation where I would keep all my shared texture/3d files. I don't plan on using my workstation while rendering really.. I'm a one man studio doing simpler smaller projects. Anybody doing this?
