kris
I have posted a thread (Test your PC rendering speed!!!) few months ago and it was sucess. Best sistem for me to buy was dual MP 2800+ according to that test. The problem is that I use V-ray most of the time and that test was for Max scanline rendering only. I made a scene with architectural elements using GI, blurry reflections, displacement... so most of the functions are covered. I can't upload it to internet, so could somebody send me mail and I will sent it so he can do it. Tomorow I am going to vacation ( Adriatic sea, Dubrovnik ), and after I come back I will make chart with resoults. Maybe somebody can adapt this scene for Brazil, MR or FinalRender and post it so we have complete test. Thanks in advance. It takes longer time to render so its best to leave it overnight. Unzip file to root of your C disk. Leave settings as they are and press render. dual Athlon MP 2800+, 1GB RAM------------233 min. download scene at: http://www.visualizationstudio.com/tmp/vray_test.zip http://www.VisualizationStudio.com

kris
That's surprise for me how faster Xeon technology is comparing to Athlons MP's. Hope to get some new resoults, maybe my Athlon has problems with low voltage or viruses or maybe its really so slower comparing to Xeon. Thanks RErender, how are things going in San Huan Capistrano. Vince_1972
I'm think i have a problem with my pc : Bi-Xeon, 2.8 with 2 giga ram --> 408 min !!! (VRay adv. 1.09.03r )
DanielBrew
I should have specified which release of VRay I was using, it was 1.4570 beta. The results won't be of much use if we all use a different release. Even so, I think you're right about your PC Vince, I don't think 1.4570 is 3x quicker than 1.09.
