Shadows on opposite face of transparent material...

Okay, yes, I'm new. Rhino + VRay.

I'm bringing sunlight in through a transparent panel with objects on both far and near sides. I get shadows cast through the panel but cannot pick up shadows on the panel itself. So I want the panel to receive shadows as well as pass them through.

I suspect that I'm needing a 2-sided material but am unclear how to set one up.

Thanks!

Perhaps you could learn something about that material:

I placed a light and a small pole inside a box with a 2 sided material and could see the light and the shadow from the inside of the box. However, adding a light outside even stronger than the one inside the box, I could not get an object to cast a shadow on the topside of the box, however there is a shadow on top but is only visible from within the box!
