chunter3
Hi, I have been working on my model using vray mtl and then adding a texture to the diffuse slot...but id like to add another texture on top of the first one so that I can achieve a "dirtier" more natural look....my textures are too clean. i know that you can create sub materials, but is it possible to add another material to a vray mtl? or do i need to create a whole new material? Any help would be great...thanks
sanmb
You can add noise. play with noise option to get desired texture or make a new texture map.
Crazy Homeless Guy
There are a number of ways to do this.... Combining Multiple Materials VrayBlendMtl Composite Blend Shellac Combining Multiple Textures VrayCompTex Composite Gradient Ramp Another method some people use is to add a VrayDirt texture to a VrayExtraTex render element, and then composite the dirt/AO dirt in post. Peter M. Gruhn
Another way that works in scanline and MR is to use a map with map slots on its subparts. For example, Noise is black and white, BUT you can put a map in each of those colors. Same for many maps.
