Daniel Doerksen
Hey guys, be working on incorporating displacement maps into my workflow. i thought all was well until i did a test render. same material applied to two objects. why would the intensity of the disp map vary THAT much? Tommy L
Have you scaled opne of the objects? Try an XForm on the scaled one, then collapse back to mesh.
Daniel Doerksen
Have you scaled opne of the objects? Try an XForm on the scaled one, then collapse back to mesh. Just tried that, no dice. I also tried duplicating the object scaling it down and increasing the texture size, still gives the same result. as you would figure it would since uvw works off of the uvw i think. Tommy L
Have you played with the curve editor in just one map and no0t the other? Are you using VrayDisplacement modifier or displacement thru the material editor?
Daniel Doerksen
Just through the mat editor, didnt use the curve editor. and i was only working with one material for the stone. but what i did was attach both objects together and reapply the material and that solved it. im not sure what happened it would seem that it was using a old instance of the material. Appreciate the help as i figured out another problem with your help exporting to dwg for sketchup i wasnt reseting xform and it was causing missing faces. that was a problem i had awhile ago, jusst connected the dots now
