erickdt
Hello all, I was wondering if someone you point me in the direction of a tutorial or plugin that explains how to achieve len flares in AfterFX. I am looking to apply this effect to some lights in an animation I am currently working on. Thanks in advance! E
Fooch
BASIC TREATMENT Add an adjustment layer .. then add lens flare on it. Tweak around etc. ADDITIONAL TREATMENT Another way to get more control/make it more natural over it is to make a black solid. Set that to color dodge which will knock off all the black. and give good bleach like light. Add lens flare to it and play around. You might mask it slightly (draw on the solid) or if you are moving a lot, make a shape layer .. alpha matte it and to link it together, parent (whiplash) the shape layer's position to the lensflare' position. MORE CONTROL Get optical flares from video copilot. Add that to a black solid layer on color dodge. I normally add a further mask like above and give an opacity animation (using wiggle) to it so it naturally flickers. Video Copilot should have a few tutorials for it.
