Description:

Hi guys,

haven't had time lately to share anything or generally browse cause I've been very busy lately, I guess that's good! Anyway, here's one of my latest works (there are more views, but haven't quite finished them yet).

This house already exists, just an exterior makeover!

Any help on making it look better would be appreciated, either on pre work, or post.

Thanks!

The pine tree almost looks like post work, slapped there afterwards, at least because there is a brush mark around it making the sky darker (as if it had an aura around the tree). Also try making a darker sky, a bit more color to it (that's post) and then try putting some stuff around the house in 3DS Max, like behind the camera, to see if you can get some more subtle shadows and reflections, that should bring the realism up. I like the floor a lot, it came out very nice. Oh yeah, the other thing that bothered me was the fact that the sky is very blue and the car does not reflect any blue in the sky, but mainly it is reflecting white? At least, a way to do this, is to put a reflection map in a sphere which is not visible in the render but which will cast reflections or lighting with HDRI technology, of which I have no idea how to do, but other guys in the forum I believe can help you with.

Something on the sides or back of the house would help, the house seems as if it's floating right now.

Also, the top of the house looks a little out of focus to me, and that looks a little strange because there is not a large depth-of-field range. I think depth-of-field needs to be either strong or not exist at all.
