laurentz
Hello, Fryrender try for a few days and I have little problems with the grouping of lights. Let me explain, my scene is done with 3ds Max 2010 x64 is a building with 6 floors, offices, corridors, lockers with their own lighting in each office there is a source of light. corridors have 6 blocks light from floor bins have 6 neon block of 20 lockers. in total over 6 floors so I have many light sources and management layers with the sign "subject properties" becomes an ordeal! I have assembled my sources in 3ds max but it changes nothing. I can not understand or I make a mistake. thank you very much "to enlighten" my lantern as they say in France PS: sorry for my approximate English, I use google translation! @ + Lawrence. Fran
Hi Laurent, I think we need a picture to look at. Is this an exterior render?
laurentz
Hi Frances, yes it is made out here is a picture that illustrates this. thank you very much for your help Frances.
RayOfLight
did you add the Fryrender Object modifier to every group of light-objects (geometry) with a different Fader# for each group (maximum of 16, including daylight)?
laurentz
Hello, I do not actually know this option, I'm gonna change, I think that's my problem. thank you very much, it's cool;)
laurentz
hello, I come back and still have the same problem. I assigned the modifier "Fryrender object" to my editable poly then I grouped the editable poly. I assembled the editable poly. I assigned the modifier "Fryrender object" groups. 1 group with Fader # 1 1 group with Fader # 2 my problem is that in Fryrender tab "OBJ" poly are not grouped I have to redo the same operation, so what is the interest to do so in 3ds max? there is something that I do not understand, but what? RayOfLight
try this: - make groups of your editable poly object that are light - make several groups - assign Fryrender Object modifier to each group (1 to each group) with different fader# - in Fryrender start rendering - go to tab LightMixer - play around with the intensity sliders and color boxes of the used fader#. - You can also do this after rendering, or after loading a .dsi file. Fran
Hi Laurent, Can you explain what the exact problem was and your solution?
laurentz
Yes my problem was that the tab OBJ Fryrender all my lights appeared as a single object in 3dsmax while they were well grouped and assigned to a fader with the modifier "Fryrender object". I corrected the problem by taking all my editable poly (lights) one by one and found errors in my assignment groups of lights.
laurentz
I explained that it was just a small test to learn to use and test the capabilities of Fryrender and maybe adopt it (if I metrized) to make the 3D architectural exterior and interior. I think the main advantage of Fryrender is the exploitation of multi GPU. was a result of very good quality in a short time and with just two NVIDIA SLI graphics catre GTX470 + GTX480 coupled to a processor i7 950 and 12GB of DDR3. must now be in good working cooperative network to operate more machines and this will be perfect. RayOfLight
I don't want to spoil it, but Fryrender only uses the CPU for rendering. Arion is the other product from RandomControl, that is the one using both CPU and GPU, and harnesses a tremendous amount of raytracing power! laurentz
Yes indeed ARION not Fryrender I agree. it only needs the "blinder" to ARION to make it perfect.
