CG School!

I opened up the CG School web page yesterday and noticed the "purchase 2 training modules and get the 3rd free" offer. Wow, great offer! I couldn't pass on it.

I am always looking for current online training to keep me growing as an artist, but most online training is only secondarily relevant to my work. For instance, if you're in the gaming or movie industry, Gnomon Workshop has some very nice training. But, I've never needed to model a Goblin's head or make a matte painting, and probably never will. What I do need is convenient affordable training resources that will aid me in fully mastering the unique challenges of visualizing architecture. Apparently that's what the CG School is all about and I am highly enthused about it.

I've been a 3ds Max/Vray user for many years, but in have thus far only used the software in support of my primary role as a lead interior architectural designer. Lately though, I asked my company if I could slide into the company's leading illustration role (the former visualization artist retired after a 36 year career) and my request was received enthusiastically. It's great knowing that the quality of my work is already satisfying to my employer, but my personal ambitions for excellence are so much higher. I really want to step up my game and I think CG School is going to play a substantial role in that.

Anyway, I am eagerly looking forward to begin viewing the training modules that I purchased yesterday (54 hours of training!) and will be sharing my impressions about them soon.

Hope this post isn't too sappy ... ;)

thanks :D My brain must be more adept than I thought at tuning out those sorts of things.

Funny you say that...I had exactly the same experience. Came to CGarchitect.com last night specifically looking for the CG School link and couldn't see it at all! Ended up just googling it. I think our modern Internet brains have been trained to ignore anything off to the right as they're usually junk advertisements.
