Uni Wan
Hello. My name is Uni and this is my first post here I uselly work with match moving and import a script from Syntheyes(motion tracking software) into 3Ds Max. The camera is always dynamic and the objects in the scene are animated. So far I've used Vray with brute force which makes it very limited because it's so time consuming. I went through all the tutorials on Vray's website about the subject to achive a satisifing result using Irradiance Map but i always end up with an flickering result. This one for an exampel. http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/tutorials_anim2.htm Perhaps someone have some advice how to accomplish this, if so please help me. I use Vray 1.5 with 3Ds Max 2011. sanmb
Can you upload your v-ray settings, light settings and camera settings? It will be easy for some one to answer immediate.
Uni Wan
Seems like i finally found a good method for non-flickering images. I only use Irradiance Map, no second GI engine. First Animation Prepass using LOW preset, every frame, and then Animation Render. Very satisifing results without flickering nor grain and about 5 times faster than using Brute Force Well there's one minor issue, when i use Displacement i takes awful long time. Nic H
interested to see what no secondary bounces look like?
notamondayfan
if you use light cache as your secondary gi, and tick "store direct light" then the light cache will be store within the irradiance map so you only save the irradiance map. then when you come to render, set secondary gi to none. Uni Wan
I actually don't see any big diffrence in most cases when second GI is off. What's the benefit of using Light Cache or Brute Force as second GI? Should Light Cache Mode be as Single Frame when i store it with the IR map? Thanks for the advices /Uni
