Companioncube
i was just wondering if anyone knows if there will be sp6 for vray 1.5 when max 2012 is released. there is no reason to upgrade to 2.0 yet but i guess sp5 won't be compatible with max 2012 when that is released. Thablanch
I guess that the product now is 2.0.. mabee a 1.5 sp5 replacement dll to make it work with a new product.. but even then.. Can I ask you a question? If there is no need to upgrade to Vray 2.0, why is there a need to upgrade to 3dsMax 2012?
Nic H
still on 2009! autodesk updates are really worthless hopefully 2012 has a decent viewport after the utter crap that is 2010 and 2011
Companioncube
main reason to upgrade is the viewport speed enhancements and a few other features. my point is that there are still alot of 1.5 users out there and its would only take a small, simple service pack for 1.5 to make it compatible with max 2012
BrianKitts
Autodesk didn't update the internal architecture when they jumped from 2010 to 2011 such that plugins for 2010 worked on 2011. We'll have to wait and see if 2012 brings that big of a change in the backend as to if it will require an update for vray BTW.... you're more likely the get a more definative answer out of Vlado if you post on the chaos group's forum. Thablanch
There will be a recompile of V-Ray 1.5 for 3ds Max 2012. Best regards, Vlado looks like there is going to be one recompile....
