pablo scapi
Hello: Since i mounted my actual machine i´m having a lot of troubles with RAM and the RAID 10, so i figured it's about time to fix this. First let me tell you my system: Mobo: Asus P6T deluxe V2 CPU: i7 920 Ram: 12GB pc3 12800 (Mushkin blackline) VCard: ATI Radeon 5870 HDD (system): SSD intel 80 GB HDD: 4 Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750GB SATA2 32MB MAESTRO "RE certified" The problems i´m having with the RAM started when i increased my initial 6GB to 12GB, the machine will most of the time only see 8gb, it´s a very common problem for what i have read around, but could never find a solution, i wonder if a change of MB will sort this out, if that is the case ¿wich one would you recomend now? Someone had this problem with this MB and could ever solve it? The other problem is the RAID, as said i have a 1+0 setup, i choose the seagate because they said raid edition certified, having read bafore of the WD problems with raid setup i though this ones were a safer bet. Well about once in a week (if lucky) the "RAID volume degraded" pop up appears, i then have to mark the disck as normal in the intel matrix console, but this is time consuming and sometimes when saving in max it will corrupt the file. It´s a total hell. So now i have enought of this and pretend to solve this problems. Do you think a new MB will solve the RAM issue?, and about the RAID if this can´t be solved in any way i prefer to not have RAID at all, and do regular backups in an external disck, but i wonder if a Gigabyte MB maybe have some different RAID controller that not causes this errors. Of coourse the idea is to also upgrade the hole system, maybe a new i7 970 and a new Nvidia gtx 580 for GPU rendering, but the main thing is to have a stable system to work. What do you think. Thank you Edited March 27, 2011 by octopus Aditional info
