agentmass
Hi, I tried making a copper material and I got this really bland brown look and I would like to know how to make it look more realistic. So here is the one that I rendered with Vray. And here is the one that I rendered with Maxwell To me, the one rendered with Vray just looks like a brown material and not a true copper material. Any ideas on how I could try to fix this? And here are my material settings: I used AA Mitchell-Netravali, and a standard GI Edited March 28, 2011 by agentmass
Thablanch
You got fresnel reflections ticked at 1.6.. Click the 'L' beside fresnel reflections, and the 1.6 number will become avaible. Change it to something like 20. ( wich should be similar to your Maxwell material) http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/examples_material.htm
covono
Copy the diffuse color into the reflection color slot. Tick off the fresnel if you aim for the same metallic reflective effect you got with the maxwell render.
