Graphite
Studio/Institution: Graphite DigitalGenre: Residential InteriorSoftware: MaxWebsite: http://Coming SoonDescription: Hey Guys/Gals; Got another image for ya. So; this image is well, for all intensive purposes "Finished". But after looking threw some of the other members images, In comparison it looks horrible.... Curious what i'm missing as far as technique is concerned... I'm really trying to get it to look Photo Real, but again, in comparison, it seems I just cant get the lighting right... Any suggestions? Thanks Nolan.
Ismael
Yes, the lighting is pretty bad on the right side mainly, just correct the blotches. The image is nice overall but the chairs, black leather? Is hard to tell but whatever they are is ok since is so dark but the cushions and the bench, it is hard to tell what they are made of. Drinks are a bit cheesy. The TV; perhaps turn it off, just reflecting the great city scene. Why, I do not feel the wood floor. Curious? Details, details; in lighting, materials, composition. Tron
The image is not pleasing beacuse you are shooting in a big/akward space. The furniture seems placed hastily. Maybe there is a better arrangement/floor plan/view to explore. You are right about this one missing something... and I don't think lighting/mateirals/realism are an issue though as that stuff's looking great. neko
too bright in the foreground, and too dark/cold in the background (especially from the city lights by the window). maybe try and add a bit more mood by darkening the scene and letting the glow of the city reflect into the space. Tommy L
Its the composition thats killing you. Look at some professional photography. Your technical skills are ok, maybe some material tweaks and some more refinements on the lighting (blotches).
Graphite
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I might have to shelf this particular project.... I've made alot of the changes you guys suggested, but it seems after hours and hours of looking threw design styles. I'm pretty much burnt out and its all becoming one big blob in my brain lol. I'm curious as to how you guys go about changing a scheme once you've decided its not working out, because i'm all out of ideas for this one LOL!. Cheers, Nolan. wasteland giant
^ I think the only problem with that image for the most parts is that ridiculous background/exterior image. Take it off and you'll have a substantiallly better image.
krimson2580
Hello Nolan, Some thoughts that might help: When I look at you're background image (meaning the location of the appartment) and the size of the terrace i guess this is a very exclusive and expensive appartment. The only thing is, the interior doesn't express it. I don't know who designed the interior but (no offence) it sure looks cheap. - Most of all I think you should change the furniture. The furniture you have placed now looks cheesy (especially the closet in the right corner). Put in some proper design furniture (from companies like vitra, capellini, cassina, fritz hanssen etc...). - Also put on another channel on tv (deadliest catch) or even better turn it off. Also the television looks enormous. It's not that it is a nice furniture. Why not put a normal size of television in it? -Get rid of the magazine on the sidetable (top gear) and put some nice books on it instead. -Maybe you should change the curtains, those "ikea" roll curtains look very cheap. - Also the overall atmosphere is rather cold. I can't help you very much regarding the technical stuff since my skills aren't that good. These are just a few thoughts of me designwise and i hope they can contribute to improve you're image. kind regards
