Crazy Homeless Guy
you would probably have better luck if you looked for a max materials book.
abicalho
My question to you would be different - do you need complex materials? Materials in MAX and VIZ are capable of doing a lot of things, that's true. But using the Arch material in VIZ 2005 should get you much farther with a much simpler material. Just my opinion, anyway. badpixel
well, with complex material i mean more than a simply photo map and a little bump you know...ist just that i can make metal looks real...and some times my textures dont work well, so i suposed its need to be more than jpg and a little bump to get results like other guys from here. by the way 118 views and 2 replies??????? ........is my topic to dumb!!???hahahaha

Psychoscorpic
Hi Carlos If I were you, I'd look for tutorials on MAX/VIZ Procedural materials. They -can- take a little longer to Render, but the results a really worth it - none of those awful pattern repeats, and far more down-&-dirty realism, as you are simulating the physical makeup of the object.
