Thanks. I know this one. I think this is the only one I can find on the net.

It would be nice to have a video tutorial demonstrating the hole process from setting the path, camera etc. to rendersettings.

Users were talking about needing to update this tutorial over at ChaosGroup. With the newer versions of Vray having a bunch of updated settings parameters, it seems only right to update the tutorial. Reading through this tutorial, it seems like they hop back and forth with settings and don't really explain what they are doing. For the animation that I am currently working on, the settings are pretty whacked do to some unexplained noise and light leaks that I had. There should be a list of "Do's and Don't s" when it comes to animations in Vray.....such as "Do not use Vray Light Materials in your scene!"

The settings haven't changed much from one release to another and things like light leaks and noise are common problems that are caused by many different variables. Bottom line is that creating animations in Vray 1.5 is the same as Vray 2.0 so unless you're using a very old version the workflow is going to be the same.

Sorry, let me clarify what I meant. Scene settings are going to be different depending on what is happening within the scene. Setting up a Light Cache pass and an Irr Map pass are similar to earlier versions of Vray, however you do have updated options for the Irradiance Map that weren't present before (Medium-Animation, High-Animation, Animation Prepass, Animation Rendering). I agree that light leaks and noise can vary depending on your materials or settings. I hate the fact that when I render out a still image everything is crisp and after calculating the LC and IRR for an animation, the frames aren't as crisp anymore.

Never used World mode before, but I know that if you calculate LC in Fly-though mode you don't have to set the range of frame. Set it as single and the LC will be calculated for the entire raange.

I need to get into quality settings way further. With precalculated maps, in 720x480px I'm getting 1:05 hrs per frame. That's way too much for my deadlines. But if I lower AA settings I get poor quality. Any info about it?

Thanks.
