monkeyman905
Been using vray to do some renders with chrome, my question is why does a sphere look like chrome but the same material and lighting setup with a box does not?? It just looks flat! Edited April 10, 2011 by monkeyman905
Dave Buckley
do you mean a sphere and a box? anyway, assuming you do, the sphere has curves which picks up much more of the environment, the box does not. And I'm guessing you have no environment either? chrome is dependent on reflections so if it has nothing to reflect it won't look like chrome

Also correct the scene does not have any enviroment to refelct, but ive tried adding some vray light mat and over obects for it to reflect but no luck. Dave Buckley
take a look at hdri lighting to make your chrome look well chrome-ish. Bascially faking an environment in the vray reflection override
