Jelle
Hi I was wondering if there's any alternative to the Advanced Render. Like Max has Vray, FR, Brazil etc. One that has radiosity/GI of course I don't get the impression there is.
tomankubik
well only SKetch and Toon and maybe vray...will be standalone renderer in few months so it will be also for Cinema. My infos are that it's not going to have some external renderers in the near future, but I can be mistaken.
STRAT
yup. at the mo there is no exclusive c4d external renderer. hopefully when stand-alone vray is released we should see some fun
Jelle
That sounds good about Vray Though it will be a standalone, number one would be integration into the application. But you can't have it all I guess.
STRAT
maxon are very proud about integration. most picky. and very proud of their AR (and rightly so) so i wouldnt expect special integration of vray and c4d. specially considering vray is more a max proggy
Ernest Burden III
And yet rendering in C with advanced materials is like watching grass grow. I've tried it in some tutorials and the results are spectacular. But who has that kind of time in a production environment? So I suspect most of us in rendering stick with standard materials, therefore not taking advantage of some of the best bits of AR. One of the advantages that vRay seems to offer is speed. STRAT
i never use SLA materials, not just because of the speed slowdown, but also because the material properties is so complicated and long-winded i dont bother with them. but you can simulate them nearly as good.
