R.Stewart
Hi there, I'm new to max and I'm working through the 3DATS beginner book and I'm trying to save a small sequence using the RAM Player but the book says to save it as a mov. file but there's no such option. I'm sure I'll need this in the future so any help would be much appreciated. Thank you : D
Peter M. Gruhn
In case you don't get an better answer for a while: Search the forum here. I'm pretty sure I recall there being an issue like "no quicktime in 64bit." At a guess, it won't matter if you use avi to work through the book. acjwalker
had a similar issue in after effects, i had no quicktime installed., Do you?
-MerlyN-
Apple never made a 64bit quicktime, thats why you wont be able to save from max to mov in 64bit. If you cant live w/o it, you'll have to work in 32bit, where quicktime should be available. However I'd always suggest to save out imagesequences from max only and only combine them into a video file in post. That way you have full control over every frame while working on it. Fooch
Aye .. always save to sequences.. if a crash happens mid process, at least you still have frames. Then export to mov via quicktime / aftereffects etc.. Apple never made a 64bit quicktime, thats why you wont be able to save from max to mov in 64bit. If you cant live w/o it, you'll have to work in 32bit, where quicktime should be available. R.Stewart
Yeah Merlyn I did read today that doing it in post was the way to go. Thanks for consolidating that fact for me. Thank you everyone things are more clear now : D
