Peter M. Gruhn
I got an error form due to materials but noticed on it that iRay thinks I have 0 CUDA cores. I'm all like "I thought my GT240 had some." Indeed, nVidia says I should have 96 of them. That's more than zero. I'm about to have a poke around in the help to see if I can find anything on iRay and finding CUDA, but have low expectations. If there's any tips, I'd be keen to hear them. chrisad3d
Hi, I have the same problem with my Quadro FX 880M, mental ray message window says 0 cuda cores! I think it's because as soon as you run out of GPU memory for your scene, in my case 1GB, it reverts to CPU rendering... I had a go with IRAY but due to not really having a quality control, it's just on with real world settings, it's as if every render I want to do has all the settings turned up to 10! It seems to be currently aimed at people with the top end cards. Not sure if it's any help, but someone suggested trying out a really simple scene, keeping the mental ray message window open and seeing if it shows any cores then. If that's no help there is a script out there that allows you to force IRAY to only use GPU cores, but it just crashes my machine straight away. My feeling is that there IS a problem with my card, but no one seems to be able to help. Regards
Peter M. Gruhn
[reverts] I had the 0 message when I had no scene and was not rendering. New drivers solved it.
