anthony cortez Posted April 18, 2011 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Architectural Visualization by Anthony & Andy Both Anthony and Andy happened to have worked on projects for the Chatwal Hotel - one of them on Exterior Renderings and one on Interior Renderings. Andy Hickes opened his architectural rendering office in Manhattan after graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University in architecture. In 1985 he founded the New York Society of Renderers, the NYSR (http://www.NYSR.com), and as president started the NYSR Portfolio published every 4 years, to promote architectural illustrators. After working for many years in traditional media, mainly airbrush, he switched to computer in 1993. In 2003 he was honored as Photoshop Guru of the Year in Illustration, at PhotoshopWorld-Los Angeles. He received the Master award for Architectural Ilustration in the first EXPOSE 1 publication. He was both a VisMaster Image of the Week and CGarchitect Visualization Pro of the Week in 2010. He judged the 2010 CGArchitect 7th Annual Architectural 3D International Awards . He will be showing recent projects and renderings currently in cgarchitect’s online auction for Japan relief . He had a rendering in the first Architecture in Perspective exhibition competition in Boston in 1985 and has just had recent work selected for Architecture in Perspective 25 being held in Tokyo, Japan this October. He will focus on techniques to maintain the competitive edge that guarantees long term success in the ever changing field of architectural visualization. He works for Arup - where we have also held some of our meetings. Anthony will also be presenting some of the recently constructed projects (YAS Marina Hotel, Academy of Arts & Science Theater, Seattle Light Rail Transit) and break down some of the lighting and civil design tools used in 3ds Max, this includes one of the latest features in the newest release of 3ds Max Design 2012, the Civil View Feature Set. Anthony is the lead artist for Arup Visualization. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Cortez has been working as an animator/lighting consultant/compositor for the design visualization industry for over a decade. Anthony has worked on numerous architectural & engineering projects, in visualization, lighting design and motion graphics.
