Eric
3ds Max Design 2011 x64, Windows 7 x64, Vray 2.00.02 I have 3 identical computers - all Dell Precision T3500. I have basic user rights - not Admin rights. Our IT guy has setup the VRay Spawner to run as a service. I can not start/stop the service on my own. It seems that on a daily basis, I have to reboot the computers in the morning in order for the individual workstations to contribute to a Distributed Render job. Is this normal? Surely not... Anyone have any ideas why I would need to reboot daily? The log file says it's pointing to "c:\VRayLog.txt". Of course, when I open that file, the contents of the text file says "Redirecting log file to C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\VRayLog.txt", which I of course can't even open. I've attached 2 screen-grabs of the V-Ray message window from two scenes - a big one and a small one. IP 114 is my workstation. IP 123 is my dedicated render box IP 214 is another workstation 123 and 214 never even show up for the Distributed Rendering party - not even in a small test scene. thhm
i have somewhat of a similar problem.. the spawner itself needs to be run as an admin, and what our IT does is give me admin privileges for a day. is there a file that can be modified to just basically run WITHOUT admin power, so the spawner will be available to common users?
