krimson2580
Hello, Anyone has got this problem in mental ray yet? 2 glas windows (solid model with MR A&D library standard clear glass) next to each other gives this strange thing as shown in the rendering attached. My settings are: GI turned on normal, MR portals on all openings + MR daylightsystem. Exposure control set to MR exposurecontrol setting daylight interior with few minor adjustments such as lowering the highlight (burn) value. Anyone got any idea how to solve this? What is the problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is this a MR bug? I can recall myself I once had the same problem with an exterior rendering also with MR daylightsystem. So the problem is with the 3dsmax design 2012 version aswell with the 2011. Thanks in advance! Kind regards.
Peter M. Gruhn
Might be a ray bounce limit. Don't have max handy to check right now where to set it. Could be a material setting. Could be a general render setting. Don't think it's FG bounces.
RevitGary
looking at the image I cant tell where the problem is. I dont know what you are referring to.
krimson2580
3 glass materials after each other gives just the MR sky and horizon in the rendering, not the actual geometry behind the glass.
