I wonder what I will need initially, it is very difficult to mount one, would love to help me clarify what I need.I really wanna open a nice Render Farm, what's the best solution, hardware solution,If I need to use a specific software or something like that !What I need to know about this!!

Thanks in advance friends,I'm looking forward for detailed explanations/good solutions!!

Hey Johann,

this is a difficult question to answer as it depends on various factors such as:

-will you build nodes yourself or order them made?

-you budget (most important)

-the purpose (animations, single images)

-where you will place them? (your room, a seperate room, an office?) (take heat/looks into account)

-do you have an electrical circuit in said room to handle the amount of nodes you will be adding

I just created my little render farm.. 4 nodes. Built myself. Even built my own little furniture out of 2x2s. Got some simple microATX cases, the fastest intel processor at the time (i7 2600), simple mb with integrated graphics, memory and a small hard drive. Connected them all together to my workstation via gigabit network. Oh, I also got some battery back ups for for the nodes. All in all I spent almost 3000 US dollars (only for hardware) and it was the best investment I could have done. For around the price of one good workstation, I got some amazing performance. 40 Buckets rendering away! See attached picture

Thank you for your reply.Ok let's go!

I will order.

Initially $ 30,000.

-the purpose (single images and animations.

-Office

I'm going to build electric circuit in the office.

What's the best solution (hardware) Boxx Technologies or Main Gear or doesn't matter, both are nice hardware.

I wanna import the hardware from USA.

Thank you.

For 30K you should be able to get 10-15 high end render nodes at least but if you go with Boxx the number will be closer to 10 because they really over charge for their product. I'd recommend finding a local comapny that can build you the machines you need, as long as they give you at least a year warrenty. It's been my experience that brand name really doesen't matter it's the quality of the parts inside the box that counts.
