Randy liddil
Does anyone know if you still have to use the "color correction" modifier for linear workflow? We started using this a few years back as a plugin for the material editor in order to gamma correct the materials coming into max. But it seems some things have been updated in Vray 1.5. Please any help would be great as it's getting annoying using the color correction modifier in the material editor every time we bring a map into max. Alyosha
You always have to adjust the output to have it delivered properly to vray frame buffer, if thats what you mean? just use proper color mapping solution and then in the vray frame buffer in the bottom tools menu you have a "srgb" button, which does the same thing as if you would change the curve manually. Just keep it on at all times when working in linear space. I'm not sure what you mean about using color correction modifier in the material editor though, it's the first time I hear someone is using this to adjust materials for linear workflow individually. You only need to adjust textures if neccessary, the materials are automatically adjusted when you set the gama to 2.2 in preferences->gama settings and if you want the results to be visible in mat editor just tick off "affect material editor display" or something similar in the same window..... and you can easily fix a texture gama if it appears washed out by any chance by setting an override gama for individual texture when importing it into a material.
