Rowan_Moss
Hi all, I have rendered off an image in mental ray and saved it as a .tga file so I could put in a different background in photoshop. When I open the file in photoshop it only shows the alpha channel, it doesn't believe the RGB channels even exist and the file is in 8 bit grayscale. I know for a fact the file contains the RGB channels because photoshop is now opening all my tga's in this fashion. Even ones I have used before and have contained the colour. Is there a ridiculous setting which I need to change? I have tried starting with an RGB canvas and imported in the tga but to the same result. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is a dissertation due in for the 3rd of May!!!!! Thanks -Rowan
Rowan_Moss
oh dear I truly am a complete fool. 3ds max saved out two files, one which had the rgb and alpha channel and one just as an alpha... I have absolutely no idea why it would ever do that... but it did problem solved
Peter M. Gruhn
I'd openly mock you. I'd point and laugh. I'd brag about how I've never done that. But then you'd point out something I HAVE done and well... "I'm so glad you sorted that one out. Thanks for posting the tip!"
