R.Stewart
Hello, I downloaded some files to practice on and I've got this really nice looking lounge scene but when I go to give it a test render the render box opens and says "transferring verticies" and displays 99:99:99 in the last frame, lapsed time, time remaining section. And nothing happens! is just sits there and I have to shut down 3ds max to stop it. Also everything in the scene is pink even after I applied a white material to everything. The exposure control test rendering is working and showing a matt white material. I'm using max 2011 with mental ray. 8GB ram. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Richard
Cyberstyle
Downloaded files can often cause problems for various reasons. First you want to create a fresh Max file with the same scene so; Open the file, right click in a free area to bring up your menu and select Unfeeze All, next select everything (select one object, press Ctrl+A) then go to File>Save As and choose Save Selected. Reset Max, and go to File >Import>Merge and choose the file you just saved. This will bring in all the modelling, materials (only in the viewport, not the map browser) lights, camera's etc... but it will not contain FG, GI, Render settings, Exposure settings etc... You will need to set-up those yourself. Start with that process first and see how you go after that. Edited May 1, 2011 by Cyberstyle
