3darchitect
Hey all, I'm doing some rendering work for a conceptual idea which involves a photo match and layering and such. Problem is, the image has a single vanishing point and an odd perspective and I can't get Sketchup to conform to the proper plane lines. I've attached the image in question. Any suggestions? Tommy L
First rule of photo-montage; get a decent photo to work with. Dont know the answer to your query, but I do know you'll not get far using that photo, its horrible!
3darchitect
I'm aware of the bad quality of the image haha. That's just what I have to work with until the client gets me a better and wider shot. It's the same perspective though so its fine for what I need it for now. Obviously I won't be using that for the final photo match.
Crazy Homeless Guy
Well, if you are not using it for the final, I wouldn't waste a lot of time with it. But typically you just need to get the perspective close, and then do the last 5-10% of the perspective matching in Photoshop. Chances are you are not going to get it lined up perfectly. It is a common challenge in all 3d software, not just SketchUp.
carlotristan3d
You might have figured it out by now, but why don't you line up the grids with the column.
