danb4026
My Max viewports started to display very poorly....see attachment. I updated the display driver to see if that would help...but it did not. I have a Nvidia Quadro 4600. Is there an explanation and fix?

Devin Johnston
2011 has all kinds of display problems especially if your using high end Nvidia cards, if you're using all the newest drivers and you still have this problem then I hate to say it but your SOL. Audodesk has chosen to not fix 2011's display issues but 2012 works great.

Dave Buchhofer
Are you sure you're not just seeing double faces? thats the type of artifact i see here. also, check to make sure your scene is a "normal" size, that there isn't something out in the far distance, or that the scene is near the 0,0 origin. cupsster
to me it looks like you have large objects with low density of faces.. that's not much to do with it. also if you working with nVidia cards be sure to instal nVidia maxstreme performance drivers.. google them. danb4026
Well, this particular scene is in mm. I normally work in inches, but this project is in China and the cad files were in mm so I decided to just work in mm. The objects have a shell modifier to give them the equivalent of about 4 inch thickness so coplanar faces are not the case. It is quite a bit a way from the origin however because of the way the files are being given to me. Once I have everything consolidated, I was going to reorient with the origin. Dave Buckley
perhaps, reorient the origin as you suggested and then maybe work in metres?
danb4026
PS.....as far as MaxStreme Performance Drivers....I downloaded the NVidia Performance Driver but when I try to install, I get a message "no application found for which a performance driver can be installed or updated"
zhopudey
Rescale the scene to meters, and switch the system unit scale to meters. If you don't wish to do that, then use orthographic instead of perspective.
