Noise
Hi I am unsuccessfully trying to open an xyz file in Revit 2012, does anyone know how to do this ? Thanks N
JonRashid
Don't know if this helps but you can import point clouds into max but require a plugin from autodesk to do so. We've been playing with getting kinect to plot a room and transferring data to max.
Noise
Is the plugin called Kinect ? There is another one called Helix but it is only for Max 2010 and up.
iwanp
Hi Niall. Not sure how the xyz file is set up but if it is a basic txt or comma separated file in the format 3424,23424,32626 4534,5646,75474 etc then you can possibly rename it to .txt and import it using the toposurface terrain tool within Revit. Dont know if that is what you are trying to do but hope it helps. Cheers iwan

kris McIsaac
I have not tried yet but I thought 2012 had a proper point cloud import option. Maybe it is a different point cloud file type. I hate to ask but did you try the help file
