Paul Shewan
Studio/Institution: Home ProjectGenre: Residential ExteriorSoftware: 3DSMax/VRayWebsite: http://paulshewan.com/Description: Here's my first VRay rendered architectural piece. I've been learning how to render for a few months now and this stunning house by Richard Neutra has made it easy to keep up the motivation as a home project. Thanks to those who've helped me with rendering issues and reference images. Any critique would be very welcome, sorry if my post processing looks a bit wonky, I'm still developing an eye for this stuff.
nanasba13
for a first, this is great! Really nothing to say!
neko
Really nice , Paul - you've captured the mood of the house and its location perfectly. Might be nice to swing the camera over to the other side of the pool, so you can see a little more of the depth of the house and have more of the pool reflecting in the foreground. Great job. Paul Shewan
Thanks, Neko, I have a camera in place, I'll get one done after I've finished my night scene. Thanks for the extra ref by the way, it was a massive help : )

Paul Shewan
Thanks, I won't be too long before the night scene is finished, I just need to solve why my shadows and water are splotchy : )
ezb
I think you could raise your target a bit. Seems a little foreground heavy. Nice grass texture. Good work.
Paul Shewan
Thanks EZB, good point, I'm glad you like the grass, it took a lot of experimentation. It's a displacement map with a bit of Autograss to add some detail. I've nearly finished a dusk scene, it'll be on my website this evening, just trying to remember how to use Flash : )
