AJLynn
How do you feel about portability vs. power? E.g., would you rather have something that's easy to carry or something with a large screen and a very good CPU?
AJLynn
For example, this one is more on the portable side while this one and other like it are big and hella powerful.
TheUninspired
I've been looking into this, and I'm no computing nerd (meant nicely, of course) I can just about tell the difference between ROM and RAM. I bought a HP pavillion DV-6 somethingsomething about 11 months ago which died on me, after months of researching this was the best spec I could afford HP Pavilion DV6-2106EA Laptop, Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 15.6" HD LED, DVDRW, GeForce GT230M, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit After using the system for a while I wasn't as overwhelmed as I thought i would be judging from the so called spec, it was pretty slow and sluggish moving/rotating around viewports and they werent even massive models Kitchens/living rooms with a bit of furniture. To cut a long story short would it be better if I got a i3 or i5 with a faster processer speed of around 2.4GHz and 4 GB ram? Or would it be better to get a AMD (around 2.2 GHz of processor speed) and upgrade the RAM to say 8GB? I dont have loads of money to spend about 650 and noticed this What do you guys think? Or is there anything on this site that would be worth a look at. I'm open to suggestions. Cheers
Crazy Homeless Guy
No one ever mentions the color space of laptops. The majority I have used don't even cover the sRGB space, some only cover about 2/3rds of the sRGB space. It would be nice to see this get mentioned from time to time, especially if anyone is planning on using a laptop to do finish level color adjustments. AJLynn
Yeah, most laptops (maybe all now) use TN displays, Dell makes one that's better than most but based in experience I never recommend Dell laptops, and Apples are better than most but for really good color you need an external, calibrated IPS monitor. Andy, the main problem I see with your confit is the video card - it's weak. That would certainly impair viewport performance.
TheUninspired
Cheers AJ, is the statememt abpxout the graphics card about the system I bought or about the system I'm thinking of buying? Cheers
