A.Mitov
Hi, there, I'm in the middle of a project when 3ds max started crashing unexpectedly without even asking for saving backup or sending crash report. This is extremely annoying because I'm on a deadline and the client keeps asking for progress on the project. I tried merging in a completely new scene, opening it in different Max version - nothing helps. I also tried the scene on a different PC but it keeps crashing. I don't know what to do anymore!! Some information about the scene: An outdoors restaurant with sofas, chairs, a bar, stage with musicians, some vray proxy palm trees, an Xref scene containing the beverages. The scene information reads ~4 mil. polys. Here is some information about my system: Max verison: 2009 SP1, latest hotfix CPU: Intel i7 2600k RAM: 16 GB DDR3 MB: ASUS P67 VGA: Palit GTX460 1GB

notamondayfan
Its probably a corrupt model, corrupt material, missing maps, or something like that. Try merging in objects in small groups, and you should be able to eliminate the bad parts. Other than that it could be RAM issue, try splitting your files into smaller pieces, and used Xref scene to bring them all back together.
