leastagno
Hello my name is Lea and I have a v-ray question... The images bellow show a really strange condition that I am not sure how to get rid off. I brought this model from an old mental ray scene into this new v-ray scene, I use the v-ray scene converter to make sure I wouldn't have any mental ray material left. At first, when I rendered in low resolution it had a few blue spots but they would go away if I rendered in hi resolution, but once I added v-ray lights in the interior of the house it got a lot worse and not even go away in hi res. Have you seen this condition before?, I really hope you can help me out with getting rid of these annoying blue spots... Thank you so much! CRD
I recently had a similar bright blue render error and I traced it down to a combo of Light Cache and some materials with pure white in the diffuse. I would comb through your materials and make sure that none of the diffuse colors are at 255 on RGB or have a texture that is overbright. I think it's related to VRay attempting to render the scene with real world settings and nothing is pure in the real world, so the math gets messed up leading to an artifact. Good luck. leastagno
Hi CRD, thank you for your reply. I tried that, but the blues spots are still there. And also, it seems that when I use Brute Force intead of Irradiance Map, the render comes out much more decent, but you can still see some blue around the edges. I am guessing is some material I must have hidden.. i don't know what else to do. Maybe the file is damaged or something....
CRD
As a test to see if it might be a material, make a rendering with the Override Material option using a simple grey material. If that rendering has an error, then it's not the materials and you should start checking the lights. Also something to look at is to make sure that all objects have a UVW map that need one. I seem to remember some odd artifacts related to UV maps.
